"Depending on God". Can you really say "God is my Rock”? Do we truly depend on Him - or do we still live in our own strength? “Follow me, and I will make you...” - familiar words from Jesus. But what do they mean for us today? Can we realise our potential while still remaining faithful to Christ, or will the world squeeze us into its mould? In the main Bible readings, these questions will be filtered through the experience of two Bible characters who shared much but ended their lives in quite different ways. What about those we care for? Who or what do they depend on? Seminar speakers will explore issues such as Beating Burnout, Drugs and Alcohol, End of Life issues, Sexuality and Work-Life Balance.

The annual CMF Scotland Conference returns to full weekend format at Gartmore House near Stirling on Friday to Sunday 24th-26th November 2006. It aims to provide a forum for doctors, students & families to take a refreshing break, share quality time and hear from God. Be prepared to think, talk, laugh, learn & share in warm worship and fellowship. We hope that you will come and be rested & refreshed, encouraged & challenged, but especially that you will meet with God & hear from Him. CMF will have the whole of Gartmore House, allowing time & space for both formal and informal discussions.

Rev John Greenshields is our main Bible teacher. Brought up in Harper Memorial Baptist Church, Glasgow, John trained as a banker, before going to College to train for the Baptist ministry. He and Rosemary were married in 1972; they have two married daughters and five lively grandsons! John enjoys walking, reading, and music (especially country). John has pastored Baptist churches in Shettleston, then in Leslie, Fife, before his call to serve as Senior Pastor of Bridge of Don Baptist Church, Aberdeen in 1995. From 2001-2002 he served as President of the Baptist Union of Scotland. John has a stimulating, clear and challenging teaching gift. His passion is to see the people of God equipped to fulfil God’s purposes today. www.bodbaptistchurch.org.uk

Dr Derek Munday will give the Barnardo Lecture & seminars. Derek is a well-known national CMF Speaker & leader of Christians in Caring Professions (CiCP). With others, he established a large Christian group practice in Reading where he worked as a GP for 25 years. He was involved at senior level in developing NHS strategy in England and was the Professional Executive Chair of a PCT. He and his wife Mary (an Ophthalmologist) relocated 3 years ago to N Wales, where they work part-time and are developing a Christian centre for health care professionals.

Dr Jane Crichton, GP from Perth will share the work of the Vine Trust. The charity has worked with the street children in Peru for over fifteen years, and since 2004, in partnership with SU Peru, has been delivering a health service to the villagers on the banks of the river Amazon and its Tributaries from the vessel the ‘Amazon Hope’. The Vine Trust encourages doctors and dentists to join medical teams from the UK, for two week trips serving on the Amazon Hope.
